Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is seeking a Director Electronic Support to lead maintenance for electronic revenue and bus technology systems across MTA Bus and NYCT depots.
The role oversees 1,300+ fareboxes, 3,000+ bus validators, and related equipment, ensuring SOGR standards, efficient operations, and cost controls. Strong leadership and budget skills are essential.
This position is accountable for directing all maintenance activities related to the electronic revenue and bus technology equipment for both MTA Bus and NYCT depot locations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the repair, inspection, installation, and tracking of over 1,300 fareboxes, 3,000+ bus validators and various other new bus technology equipment. Enforcing policies and procedures for newly integrated electronic revenue control and bus technology equipment. Directing maintenance strategies to test, implement and maintain equipment in a State of Good Repair (SOGR). Reviewing performance indicators and make adjustments to operations ensuring optimal performance is achieved to meet the goals of the agency. Handling the coordination of all maintenance and support departments with the receipt and distribution of equipment that is installed on buses used in revenue service. Assisting the Bus Technology department with transitioning vendor maintenance responsibilities when warranty contracts expire. Monitoring budget activities related to parts inventory costs and overtime. Negotiating and coordinating picks with union officials and labor relations personnel when necessary. Managing staff in both represented and non-represented titles. Directing staff on all administrative functions for payroll, randoms, time and attendance matters, staff training.

Final salary is determined experience, skillset, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
