Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior R&D capability leader to drive a global R&D roadmap and value realization across business functions. You will re-engineer processes, partner with senior leadership, and guide standardization and harmonization efforts through the Transcend framework.

The role requires strong transformation, ERP, and change-management experience in regulated environments, with up to 15% travel and a track record of building high-performing teams.

Qualifications

Master’s degree required.

Responsibilities

Lead development of an R&D capability roadmap across business functions
Define value opportunities and translate them into measurable outcomes
Re-engineer and redesign business processes as input to a global R&D Transcend template solution
Partner with senior R&D Leadership, Innovative Medicine Supply Chain, and Transcend Leadership to define the end-to-end R&D process vision
Secure timely decisions on standardization and harmonization
Influence portfolio management decisions across functions to prepare for Transcend
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of R&D BPOs by subprocess
Build process ownership capability
Embed compliance-by-design and audit readiness across process decisions
Drive post-launch continuous improvement through a sustainable backlog and prioritization model
Manage R&D business strategy, capability roadmap, and value realization
Lead global process redesign, governance, and decision forums
Engage senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional convergence
Coach team members and manage team performance

Requirements

Minimum of a Master’s degree is required
Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in R&D, Clinical Supply Chain, Supply Chain, Technology (SAP), or large-scale enterprise transformation programs
Demonstrated success in global business process re-engineering, ERP-enabled transformation, operating model change, or global template governance in a complex regulated environment
Proven ability to set strategic direction, translate business strategy into capability roadmaps
Strong people leadership experience, including leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams in a global environment
Executive stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders, driving alignment, resolving ambiguity, and managing escalations
Experience identifying, quantifying, and tracking business value through value hypotheses, critical measures, adoption measures, and performance management
Relevant SAP S/4HANA and global template experience, preferably across supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, planning, procurement, quality, data, or clinical supply processes
Excellent written, verbal, and executive communication skills
International travel up to 15%, defined by business needs
Certifications such as MBA, PMI, APICS CSCP, Lean/Six Sigma, or equivalent transformation/process re-engineering credentials are an advantage
Experience working in GxP, SOX, SDLC/CSV, data integrity, and/or regulated system environments
Experience leading enterprise-scale change management, business adoption, and transformation communications across multiple releases or deployment waves
Experience with Fit-to-Standard, Agile/PI planning, Jira, Confluence, or comparable transformation delivery methods and tools

Core Competencies

Demonstrates expertise in leading R&D capability roadmaps, global business process re-engineering, and strategic direction setting. Proven ability to manage high-performing teams and engage with executive stakeholders in complex regulated environments.
