Job summary

Invenergy is seeking a Director, Thermal Asset Management to maximize asset profitability. You will lead a team of asset managers, guide budgets and forecasts, and manage lender relationships in coordination with Portfolio Finance.

The role requires deep financial modeling, contract management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work with internal teams including Finance, Operations, and Regulatory Affairs to optimize assets and drive value across the life cycle, with a hybrid schedule

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in Finance or Accounting.
• 10+ years of experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, or related roles in energy/utilities/real estate sectors.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Experience writing, negotiating, and managing contracts.
• Strong budgeting and variance analysis experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and coach a team of asset managers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Manage a portfolio of thermal assets and oversee assets managed by direct reports.
• Oversee lender relationships in coordination with Portfolio Finance.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow models.
• Perform variance analysis of project performance and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with project contracts including PPAs, hedges, and interconnection agreements.
• Procure parts, materials, and services; resolve technical issues.
• Manage relationships with local, county, and state authorities; engage Government and Regulatory Affairs as needed.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to minimize operating costs.
• Contribute to ongoing development of thermal projects and seek value opportunities.
• Support asset bidding, scheduling, and development of commercial contracts.
• Develop long-term asset planning to optimize economics and performance across life-cycle.
