Altria Group, Inc. is seeking a Director of Technology SOX Controls & Compliance to shape the enterprise SOX/ITGC program and governance. The role leads a senior team, partners with Audit and senior leaders, and drives modernization using GRC tools and data analytics. It requires deep SOX expertise and executive presence.

The position offers a hybrid schedule in Richmond, VA or remote consideration for the ideal candidate, with a starting salary in the $139k–$243k range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a relevant field; MBA/MS preferred.
• 15+ years in SOX/ITGC, IT risk, security, or audit roles.
• 8+ years leading leaders and budgets in complex orgs.
• Expert knowledge of SOX, PCAOB, ITGCs, controls.
• Experience with IAM, PAM, cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiarity with NIST/ISO/COBIT/CIS controls and AI governance.
• Proven track record modernizing compliance with automation and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and long-term roadmap for enterprise SOX/ITGC programs.
• Lead and develop the Senior Manager and controls team.
• Oversee full SOX lifecycle from scoping to certification.
• Liaise with External/Internal Audit and governance forums.
• Drive modernization via automation, GRC, and data analytics.
• Assess governance for AI, cloud, DevOps, and third-party risks.
• Align with security and governance frameworks; report program metrics.
