Job summary

The UCLA Library invites applications for a frontline leader to head Teaching and Learning Services. You will guide information literacy instruction, research help, instructional design, and student engagement while directing a team of about 18 librarians and staff.

Collaborating across campuses and library units, you will shape teaching and learning programs, assess services, and align them with UCLA's scholarly mission, equity, and inclusive pedagogy.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science (or equivalent).
• Proven supervisory and leadership experience in an academic library.
• Experience with program assessment and teaching pedagogy.
• Knowledge of information literacy and its relation to AI, disinformation, and inclusive pedagogy.
• Budget management experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead service strategy for Teaching and Learning Services, including sustainable information literacy and research help services.
• Collaborate with Library colleagues to align teaching and learning services with campus departments.
• Develop strategic relationships with campus partners to support goals and priorities.
• Oversee unit budgets and staffing for ~18 librarians and staff; mentor and review librarians.
• Collaborate on space planning and collections to support teaching and research needs.
• Serve as active member of the Library’s Management Council and work with Development on donor relations.
