Job summary

Cresset, based in Bellevue, WA, seeks an experienced Director, Tax Manager to lead strategic tax planning for ultra-affluent clients and oversee complex returns. You will manage a tax team, coordinate engagements with financial advisors and attorneys, ensure timely, high-quality work, and drive business development while aligning with the firm’s client-first culture.

This role requires excellent communication, mentoring, and deep knowledge of fiduciary and entity tax issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Management, Economics or Accounting preferred.
• MBA or MST a plus; CPA desirable.
• 10 years of experience dealing with individual, fiduciary and entity tax compliance and tax issues.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills; knowledge of financial & estate planning.

Responsibilities

• Review tax deliverables - returns and related filings for assigned clients/entities.
• Manage staff assigned to clients/entities and coordinate due dates; align with peak seasons.
• Mentor and train tax associates; develop tax knowledge for complex issues.
• Deliver accurate, timely tax work products and memo of advice as needed.
• Support client relationships and collaborate with senior leaders on tax planning.
