Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Director of Targeted Protein Degradation to provide scientific leadership for IPP, guiding a bold vision and building capabilities across chemistry, proteomics, and translational sciences. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, establish strategic partnerships, and drive innovation in induced proximity biology.

The role reports to the Head of IPP and requires a PhD with substantial leadership experience in drug discovery.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with at least 4 years of scientific leadership/people management experience.
• A master's or bachelor's degree with substantial leadership experience also acceptable.
• Strong track record in targeted protein degradation or adjacent fields.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a long-term scientific vision for TPD and proximity-based therapeutics.
• Build next-generation capabilities in chemistry, proteomics, genomics, and computation.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team and foster collaboration across functions.
• Partner with Therapeutic Areas, Research Informatics, and Development to maximize impact.
