Job Description

The Director, Talent Management for International Therapeutics will join a diverse, collaborative team of specialists focused on driving business performance through comprehensive talent strategies. This individual will lead a team of 2 Talent Management direct reports focused on International Therapeutics within the Commercial function and support talent management and development outside the US. They will also have direct client responsibility for the International Marketing and International Market Access & Pricing organizations. The role is based in Lake County, IL.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership in performance management, career development, strategy, and stakeholder management to a global team of 2 talent management experts.
  2. Lead a cross-functional team to create and implement a comprehensive talent strategy to advance the Commercial talent pipeline, focusing on critical roles.
  3. Partner with BHR VP for International Therapeutics, area and affiliate BHR, and other stakeholders to influence talent and development strategies aligned with AbbVie's overall talent management practices.
  4. Identify top talent within the organization, differentiate their development, and create a deep pipeline of talent. Use data-driven insights for development actions and guide leaders in talent decisions that align with business strategies.
  5. Collaborate with other Talent Management leads to ensure process alignment and effective talent development and deployment across functions.
  6. Implement processes for Performance Management and Talent Reviews, train BHR teams, and support consistent practice to improve outcomes annually.
  7. Act as a trusted advisor to BHR and business leaders, providing consultation on talent management phases such as succession planning, performance management, assessment, feedback, and leadership transitions.
  8. Lead forums with senior leaders and HR to promote talent sharing across the organization.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
  2. At least 5 years of HR experience with emphasis on Talent Management.
  3. Experience managing complex projects in multidisciplinary, matrix, and global environments.
  4. Proven leadership experience, both direct and indirect.
  5. Strong communication skills, capable of creating executive presentations and engaging with senior audiences.
  6. Experience in strategy development and tactical implementation.
  7. Ability to leverage senior leaders for solution sponsorship.
  8. Exceptional stakeholder management and consulting skills.
  9. Preferred: Advanced degree in HR or Business; pharmaceutical industry experience; international exposure.
