Job summary

Gogo-Business-Aviation seeks a Director of Systems Engineering to shape the strategy, vision, and execution across programs and product lines. Lead architecture, requirements, verification, and certification, partnering with Product, Software, Hardware, Certification, and Operations to deliver certifiable connectivity solutions for customers worldwide.

You will build and mentor a high-performing team, define processes, and influence product strategy while aligning engineering with business

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 12+ years in systems/ hardware/ software avionics product development.
  • 7+ years in engineering leadership, managing managers and leads.
  • Deep expertise in systems engineering, requirements, integration, verification and validation.
  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754A, AS9100 in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term vision, strategy, and operating model for the Systems Engineering organization across multiple programs.
  • Lead and develop the Systems Engineering team across product lines and development programs.
  • Drive system architecture development, requirements engineering, integration, verification, validation, and certification activities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align engineering priorities with company objectives.
  • Influence product strategy through technical leadership and architecture guidance.
  • Establish and improve systems engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure engineering excellence across the full product lifecycle from market opportunity to deployment.
  • Build partnerships across Software, Hardware, Product Management, Certification, and Operations teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing leaders and engineers.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives to improve team effectiveness and delivery.
