Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a Director for System Project Integration and Planning to provide strategic direction for future transit expansion. The role leads the System Planning and Integration team, guiding standards and procedures to support integration of operational planning into long-range planning and capital investments.

The candidate will work with Transit Operations leadership, drive coordinated decision-making, and ensure alignment with service delivery goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; eight years in rail/transit projects preferred.
• Experience in leading planning projects, and coordinating with multiple departments.
• Knowledge of total cost of ownership, budgeting, and capital planning is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of System Investment Master Plan and ConOps.
• Provide operational strategy and guidance for corridor studies and long-range planning.
• Coordinate across Operations, Capital Delivery and partner departments for investment decisions.
• Oversee cross-functional coordination on operational impacts and service planning assumptions.
• Collaborate with ST Executives and external agencies on planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and agency policies in planning activities.
