Job summary

Seton Hall University is seeking a Director of Student Success in the College of Arts and Sciences to provide college-wide leadership for undergraduate persistence, degree progression, academic advising operations, and coordinated student support. The role oversees daily advising, inquiry channels, and retention interventions across departments, while maintaining FERPA compliance and service standards.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, or related field; a master's in Arts & Sciences with student-services experience may be considered.
• At least five years of progressively responsible higher-education experience in undergraduate advising or student success.
• Advanced knowledge of undergraduate advising, FERPA, degree requirements, and retention practices.
• Ability to analyze student data and translate findings into actionable steps and briefs.
• Experience with cross-functional coordination, policy guidance, and outreach campaigns.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and advising platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily undergraduate advising and academic-form operations for College students, including planning and troubleshooting.
• Develop and assess data-informed persistence and retention strategies and dashboards.
• Manage the College's student inquiry channel, triage, referrals, and escalation.a0
• Coordinate Open House, Pirate Adventure, Admitted Student Days, and other events with Admissions and Marketing.
• Oversee executive producer duties for the Dean's Speaker Series and related events.
• Lead communications, advisor training, and knowledge management across the College.
