Job summary

Texas State University’s McCoy College invites applications for the Director of the McCoy College Student Success Center, a senior leadership role reporting to the Dean. The Director will translate the College's strategic vision into a robust student success plan and lead staff, faculty partnerships, and programs to raise retention and career readiness.

With responsibility for budget oversight and collaboration across departments, the Director will build an evidence-based, outcomes-driven center

Qualifications

• An earned master's degree.
• 6+ years of progressive leadership experience in higher education, talent development, or career development.
• Experience designing or delivering programs that support student success, development, retention, or career readiness.
• Experience supervising professional staff and managing operating budgets.
• Experience using data to inform programming decisions and evaluate outcomes.
• Doctoral degree (preferred).
• Experience translating institutional vision into an executable action plan.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with college leadership to implement the strategic vision for the Center’s next phase, developing a sequenced, evidence-grounded action plan and leading its execution.
• Provide direct supervision to the Center’s professional staff, currently the Academic and Professional Engagement Specialist and the Program Coordinator, with supervisory scope expanding as the Center adds roles.
• Maintain rigorous, multi-dimensional assessment of Center initiatives and drive programming decisions based on data.
• Document student development outcomes for accreditation, planning, and reporting.
• Oversee and develop college initiatives like the McCoy Ready framework and Suitable platform, ensuring alignment with student competency development.
