Texas State University seeks an Assistant Director of Academic Advising to lead a proactive, student-centered advising center from onboarding to graduation. You will supervise professional staff, shape operations, collaborate across campus, and advance retention, persistence, and degree completion goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 6–7 years of progressively responsible experience, including supervisory/leadership experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic success and student-centered service.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and productivity software.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and performance management for Academic Advisor I & II.
• Train and onboard new advisors to ensure consistency in advising policies and practices.
• Oversee daily advising operations and staff development to maintain high-quality advising services.
• Collaborate with campus partners to advance student success, persistence, and degree completion.
• Support strategic planning, assessment, and data-informed improvements in advising practices.
