Job summary

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and establish department goals aligned with Merrimack Health strategic plans.
• Develop and implement a continuum of spiritual care services for patients, families, and staff.
• Provide human and fiscal management for the department, including annual operating budgets.
• Plan and delegate work assignments, train, supervise, and evaluate departmental chaplains and support staff.
• Oversee the scheduling, professional development, and clinical performance of spiritual care team members.
• Lead regularly scheduled departmental meetings with the spiritual care team.
• Participate in Department Head meetings, Management Grand Rounds, Mission Integration Committee, and other hospital committees as appropriate.
• Continually improve and implement departmental policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Inform hospital leadership and Administration of departmental performance and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain complete departmental records, prepare regular operational reports, and coordinate periodic internal or external audit reviews as required.
• Maintain professional development, active membership in relevant professional associations, and required ongoing credentials.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by leadership
