Job summary

The Salvation Army seeks a Director of Special Projects (D-SP) to work with the Managing Director, researching, planning, implementing, and liaising CARI special projects in Orange County. You’ll help review funding contracts and scale program impact through government, private sector, and foundation partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred in Public Administration, MBA with social impact focus, or MSW with admin/macro-practice
• Certifications in Social Impact Strategy, Project Management (PMP), or Human-Centered Design
• 7–10 years in CSR, nonprofit growth, or business development
• Ability to lead multi-stakeholder proposals and contracts

Responsibilities

• Drive leadership, management, and execution of short-term special projects including Anaheim Emergency Shelter initiatives
• Identify and secure diverse revenue streams including grants, government contracts, and social enterprise
• Lead development of complex proposals and pitches outlining social impact
• Build high-level relationships with government, corporate partners, and foundations
• Monitor social services landscape for funding shifts and policy changes
