Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks a Director of Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) to design and operationalize the company's ICFR framework for SOX 404.

You will partner with Finance, IT, and external auditors to implement scalable, technology-enabled controls across the organization and support the first-year SOX certification and ongoing governance. The role requires deep SOX/COSO knowledge, extensive experience in financial close and multi-entity environments, and the ability to lead

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related quantitative discipline.
• Ten years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• CPA, CIA or CISA preferred.
• Big 4 experience preferred.
• Deep SOX/COSO knowledge and compliance requirements.
• Understanding of close, consolidation and reporting processes.
• Experience with Oracle, Workday and Workiva.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICFR scoping, risk assessment and control design per COSO/PCAOB.
• Oversee process docs, flowcharts and testing across entities.
• Establish ownership and accountability for controls.
• Manage control testing for design and operating effectiveness.
• Identify deficiencies and coordinate remediation with owners.
• Maintain documentation and evidence for SOX certifications.
• Develop dashboards and reports for management and Audit Committee.
• Serve as liaison among Internal Audit, Finance, IT, Operations and external auditors.
• Provide training to control owners to boost awareness.
• Align SOX readiness with financial close and system implementations.
• Leverage data analytics and automation to monitor controls.
• Refine SOX program for organizational changes.
