Job summary

FedEx Freight seeks a Director to design and operationalize the internal control framework over financial reporting (ICFR), ensuring SOX 404 compliance. You will partner with Finance, IT, Operations, and external auditors to implement sustainable control environments and support the first-year SOX certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related quantitative field required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification preferred.
• Big 4 experience preferred.
• Deep SOX/COSO knowledge and controls design.

Responsibilities

• Lead ICFR scoping, risk assessment, and control design per COSO and PCAOB.
• Oversee process documentation, flowcharts, and testing across entities.
• Establish ownership and accountability for control activities.
• Manage testing of controls to evaluate design and operating effectiveness.
• Identify control deficiencies and coordinate remediation with owners.
• Maintain documentation and evidence for SOX certifications.
• Develop dashboards and reporting for management and Audit Committee.
• Liaise between Internal Audit, Finance, IT, and External Auditors on SOX matters.
• Provide training to control owners and process leaders.
• Partner with CFO for SOX readiness with close timelines.
• Establish scalable, tech-enabled SOX processes.
• Leverage data analytics to improve control monitoring and reduce manual testing.
• Refine SOX program to reflect changes in business or regulations.
