Where you will work: This individual may be based remotely in NJ, PA, NY, IL, TX, or CA, with the ability to travel to the nearest office as needed.
A Day in the Life of the Director, Solutions Architecture:
- Lead and develop the vision and execution of Solutions Architecture strategy to drive more complex solution activity and increase new revenue across managed and complex solutions.
- Work closely with Sales Engineering, the Commercial Product team, and Sales to facilitate deep dive discovery sessions, capturing complex requirements from customers and delivering supportable solutions.
- Develop design standards across all sales verticals and establish best practices in solutions architecture among team members.
- Lead Solutions Architects and Engineers in supporting long-term technical solutions by defining and developing business strategies, technical standards, roadmaps, and use cases.
- Support the business development team to help develop strategy and facilitate requests.
- Develop Vendor Architecture SMEs who drive relationships and connect Astound products with vendor capabilities and roadmaps.
- Align closely with the Advanced Services team to drive value for customers and ensure seamless onboarding and support.
- Establish measurable reporting for complex sales activity and closed/won dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve understanding of commercial product offerings and identify gaps through reporting and customer meetings.
- Demonstrate industry trend expertise specific to managed services and AI developments.
- Research and lead others in exploring new technology areas, working with industry partners to develop standards.
- Review proposed solutions, identifying gaps in system design and workflows.
- Set clear expectations with your team, partners, and customers to drive accountability.
- Encourage knowledge sharing among the Sales Engineering team through training and collaboration.
- Communicate effectively with the sales team regarding product roadmaps, releases, escalations, and customer expectations.
- Support the Commercial Network Operations team through design reviews and vendor training.
- Promote and support Astound's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, fostering a respectful and empowering work environment.

What You Bring to the Table:
- Experienced leader of architects or senior engineers in creating complex managed solutions and participating in their implementation.
- 8+ years of experience in telecommunications, network design, engineering, or project management, preferably with MSO experience.
- 8+ years in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, or Architecture.
- 5+ years of SD-WAN SME or engineering experience.
- 3+ years of custom Wi-Fi experience.
- Curiosity about industry trends and technical solutions related to Enterprise and Carrier networking.
- Strong understanding of Cloud, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and Networking technologies.
- Knowledge of commercial voice solutions and UCaaS.
- Proven vendor relationship management and training development skills.
- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to articulate design costs.
- Experience in team development, motivation, and retention.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus.
- Leadership in delivering complex solutions on time.
- Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
- Skilled in managing expectations and resolving conflicts.
- Client-facing skills and relationship building expertise.
- Ability to translate technical needs for non-technical audiences.
- Financial and analytical business acumen.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Salary Range: $155,000 - $175,000 annually, plus bonus, benefits, and commissions. Actual pay varies based on skills and experience.
