Capital One is seeking a Director of Credit & Underwriting for Small Business Banking Workout. Lead credit analysis across conventional, SBA, and CDFI portfolios, directing a high-performing team and shaping underwriting strategy.

You will own risk assessment, approval decisions, and policy alignment while driving process modernization and portfolio quality. Location-flexible and eligible for incentive compensation, with a strong focus on collaboration with cross-functional partners.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of Commercial and/or Small Business Credit Analysis and Underwriting.
• 3+ years of Direct People Management experience.
• Experience with loan origination systems and credit automation workflow tools.
• Candidates with SBA/7(a) and 504 knowledge are preferred.

Aufgaben

• Lead day-to-day credit analysis and underwriting operations across conventional, SBA, and CDFI lending portfolios.
• Exercise credit approval authority for complex requests and structuring.
• Maintain and refine departmental procedures and business continuity plan.
• Refine credit policies and risk-rating methodologies with related teams.
• Monitor portfolio health, industry concentration risks, and credit trends.
• Serve as primary contact for audits, SBA reviews, and regulatory examinations.
• Collaborate with sales, risk, compliance, legal, and special assets teams.
• Mentor and develop a team of analysts and underwriters; advance cash flow modeling & collateral valuation.
• Identify opportunities to streamline underwriting workflows and leverage automation.
