Arizona Western College seeks a Director of the Small Business Development Center (Grant Funded) to lead and grow counseling services, seminars, and programs for entrepreneurs in Yuma and La Paz counties. The role aligns with SBA guidelines and focuses on fostering local business success.

The ideal candidate brings proven leadership, experience in business consulting, and capability to promote regional economic growth while navigating grant-funded constraints.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading teams and conducting professional meetings.
• Three years of experience as a business owner or full-charge general manager.
• Three years of experience in business consulting.
• Additional language proficiencies (English/Spanish) are welcome in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Develops, manages, and implements service functions for small businesses, including counseling, seminars, workshops, and advisory services to SBA clients.
• Advises business owners and prospective owners seeking SBA-backed assistance.
• Promotes for-profit business growth, increased productivity, sustainability, and management improvement in Yuma and La Paz counties.
• Liaises with local organizations to improve the business climate and regional economic growth.
