Merck is seeking a Director of Site Communications for U.S. Human Health Manufacturing. This role leads strategic communications across U.S.

HH sites (PA, NC, VA, DE), directing internal and external messaging to support business objectives, engagement, change management, and reputation protection. The role partners with senior leaders to align local priorities with global Manufacturing Division strategies, drives cross‑functional collaboration, and oversees external relations and crisis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of communications experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, med tech, biotech or similarly regulated industries; strong experience in international and/or multi‑country communications required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of four U.S. HH site communicators across multiple states.
• Manage high-visibility and sensitive communications including workforce changes and regulatory matters.
• Develop integrated US site communications strategies aligned with global priorities and business objectives.
• Partner with HR, Operations, EHS and Quality to support change management and engagement initiatives.
• Coordinate external communications with corporate affairs, media, government, and stakeholders.
• Lead or coordinate crisis communications and issues management for the U.S. sites.
