Job summary

AbbVie in Cambridge, MA is seeking a senior leader to shape the siRNA discovery portfolio within BGM and translate RNAi technologies into differentiated therapeutic candidates across multiple therapeutic areas.

You will lead a 10+ member multidisciplinary team, partner with Therapeutic Areas, drive asset strategy and milestones, and ensure fast, data-driven progression from concept to development candidates.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field with 10+ years in biotech/pharma.
• Deep expertise in siRNA therapeutics, oligonucleotide chemistry, RNA biology, or related modalities.
• Proven track record leading discovery-stage programs and advancing assets through key decision points.
• Experience building and leading multidisciplinary teams and matrix collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic roadmap for siRNA discovery capabilities aligned with AbbVie's therapeutic areas.
• Partner with Therapeutic Area leaders to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities.
• Lead advancement of early discovery siRNA programs from concept to validation with go/no-go milestones.
• Serve as the primary scientific interface between BGM and Therapeutic Areas and foster cross-functional partnerships.
• Drive scientific innovation by integrating RNAi advances and establish external collaborations.
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team and represent BGM discovery.
