Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist I/II to join the siRNA group within the Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine (BGM) department.

You will design and execute innovative experiments to advance oligonucleotide therapeutics and enable siRNA delivery for extrahepatic pipelines. The role requires hands-on expertise in RNA biology and delivery systems, with collaboration across functions to support multiple program stages.

Qualifications

Experience designing in vitro and in vivo siRNA delivery experiments.
Proven ability to develop and optimize delivery platforms.
Strong publication or patent track record preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead research efforts within a cross-functional team to advance siRNA therapeutics development for extrahepatic pipelines.
Design, evaluate, and develop novel ex-hepatic siRNA delivery platforms for targeted delivery to tissues of interest.
Conceive and execute proof-of-concept experiments to validate scientific hypotheses and address technical challenges with high-quality results.
Develop in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays to assess siRNA candidates and delivery technologies in support of program objectives.
Work independently and maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory, ensuring efficiency and scientific rigor.
Analyze and interpret multidisciplinary data to generate actionable conclusions and guide future experimental directions.
Acquire deep knowledge of RNA biology and siRNA therapeutics to support programs across multiple stages of development.
Collaborate and effectively communicate results with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Contribute as a primary author to scientific publications, presentations, and/or as a primary inventor of patent applications.
Mentor and support junior scientists within the team.
