Veronica Beard is seeking Director/Senior Director Design, Denim to lead the vision, design, and execution of our denim collection—from fit, wash, and construction development through production —with a clear creative point of view and strong commercial instinct.

Partnering closely with Design Leads across RTW and Accessories and Merchandising, the (Senior) Design Director will ensure a cohesive brand aesthetic that is both inspirational and commercially successful.

Responsibilities

• Define the creative vision for Veronica Beard denim with founders and RTW leads.
• Own end-to-end development from concept through production.
• Lead silhouette architecture, fabric, wash, and construction standards with PD/Tech/Production.
• Partner with merchandising to balance trends with a foundational assortment.
• Build relationships with domestic and international partners.
• Stay ahead of trends and competitive landscape to ensure commercial success.
• Foster a collaborative, creative, and motivating team environment.

Job Summary

Veronica Beard is seeking Director/Senior Director Design, Denim to lead the vision, design, and execution of our denim collection—from fit, wash, and construction development through production —with a clear creative point of view and strong commercial instinct. Guided by our mission to create the dream wardrobe for a layered life, this role brings that vision to denim. Partnering closely with Design Leads across RTW and Accessories and Merchandising, the (Senior) Design Director will ensure a cohesive brand aesthetic that is both inspirational and commercially successful. As a leader, they will mentor our denim team, cultivate strong relationships with factory partners and mills both domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with Co-Founders, SVP of Apparel and RTW leads to define the creative vision for Veronica Beard denim, ensuring it stays true to the brand’s aesthetic and design philosophy
• Own the end-to-end development proceess, from initial concept through final production execution
• Lead silhouette architecture, fabric innovation, wash developments and constructions standards across product lifecycle - partnering closely with PD, Tech and Production throughout the process to ensure quality, consistency and margin targets while protecting design integrity
• Partner with merchandising to build a product strategy, balancing seasonal trends with a strong foundational assortment
• Cultivate strong relationships with key domestic and international partners
• Stay ahead of trends, competitive landscape and retail market to ensure the collection is both inspirational and commercially successful
• Build a team environment that is collaborative, creative and motivating

Requirements:

• 10-15+ years of denim experience in a leadership position, premium denim brand experience a plus
• Clear creative point of view and ability to drive business results
• Expert product and technical knowledge in fits, wash and fabric
• Strong understanding of global manufacturing, sourcing and vendor management
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with collaboration across multiple cross-functional teams
• Deep understanding of the denim market, competitors and retail landscape
• Domestic and international travel as needed
• Reports to SVP of Apparel Design
• 4 days a week in-office
