Job summary

Veronica Beard is seeking an experienced Technical Designer for women's accessories, reporting to the Head of Accessories. You will develop technical specs from concept to production, review samples, and update CADs across colorways and materials.

The role emphasizes precision, cross-functional collaboration, and maintaining digital libraries of standards while staying ahead of market trends in handbag and accessory construction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an accessories technical designer
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD drafting
• Strong note-taking and organizational skills
• Excellent written, verbal, and email communication skills

Overview:

Veronica Beard is looking for an experienced Technical Designer to join the team! This role will be specifically for women's accessories (SLG's, handbags, hats/scarves, jewelry) - reporting to the Head of Accessories.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with designers to create accurate technical specifications throughout all stages of development, from concept through production
• Review samples and provide corrections related to aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality, construction, and workmanship, ensuring specifications accurately capture all product details and reflect the designer's intent.
• Update technical sketches to reflect the latest samples and approved changes
• Create CADs for colorways, color blocking, and material placement
• Develop full-scale layouts as needed, including artwork placement, engineered embellishments, patchwork, construction details, and proportions
• Execute final product spec updates and corrections, ensuring all post-market changes are captured
• Help maintain consistency across product specifications, factories, and seasons
• Maintain digital libraries of design details and technical standards
• Research market trends related to product construction and functionality

Requirements:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an accessories technical designer working with accessories
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with the ability to create CADs efficiently in a fast-paced environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Strong knowledge of handbag and accessories construction preferred
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong note-taking and organizational skills
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Excellent written, verbal, and email communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

The base salary range for this role is between $75,000 and $85,000. The relevant base salary will vary depending onwiderange of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications. The base salary is just one component of our total compensation offerings, which consist of a comprehensive benefits package as well as a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts
