Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Director of Security Programs to lead corporate security initiatives across data centers and related assets. You will oversee security strategies, incident response, and liaison with legal and compliance teams while managing budgets and cross-functional collaboration.

The role requires deep expertise in physical security, risk assessment, and regulatory frameworks, with travel up to 50% and hybrid on-site work in a leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive security leadership experience.
• Experience in data centers, critical infrastructure, telecommunications, technology, or related industries.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar security budgets.
• Certification such as CPP, PSP, PMP, CISM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, maintain, and continuously improve the operations and effectiveness of the company’s security program.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior management on security, crisis management, business integrity and other matters.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders at CoreSite and American Tower Corporation.
• Collaborate with internal public affairs teams to engage external entities (government, law enforcement, industry bodies).
• Develop and drive corporate security strategies including executive, personnel, physical security, and security technology.
• Direct analysis, planning, implementation and deployment of physical access control infrastructure (hardware, software, cameras, NVR).
• Develop and maintain a security qualifications program for the Data Centers Operation team.
• Provide support to and oversight of Security Program Managers and SMEs.
• Improve and ensure compliance with Security SOPs and security awareness training programs.
• Work with Legal, Compliance and Data Center Operations to support privacy, compliance, and security activities.
• Conduct regular site risk assessments and design solutions with partners.
• Own security relationships with Construction, Sales, Client Services, Compliance, Legal and Procurement.
• Lead Security Enablement Team to deliver high-quality services to strategic customers.
• Attend industry meetings and courses to maintain security competency.
• Manage Security Program Team annual budget.
• Promote CoreSite culture and core values.
