Job summary

Empower is seeking a Director of Security Operations & Engineering in the United States (Kentucky region) to lead security operations and engineering teams, balancing security with business needs. The role reports to senior leadership and requires strong collaboration with stakeholders and service owners.

You will guide incident response, monitoring, and security controls, while driving strategic improvements and policy input across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or equivalent applicable experience.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SANS GCIH, GCIA, CEH, GIAC, or comparable industry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management and performance of multiple security operations and engineering teams.
• Develop departmental plans and resource allocations to support Information Security objectives.
• Oversee monitoring, event analysis, identification, escalation, investigation, reporting, and incident response processes.
• Direct analysis of security logs to detect unauthorized activity and threats.
• Oversee security services and technologies including SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and WAFs.
• Translate security risks into clear business language for leaders and auditors.
