Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Manager of Security Engineering & Platforms to lead multiple cybersecurity teams responsible for foundational security platforms and services supporting enterprise detection, response, automation and cyber defense programs. The role includes people and technical leadership across SIEM, SOAR, and related engineering functions.

The ideal candidate will develop talent, drive engineering strategy, optimize platforms, and ensure reliable operation of security technologies

Qualifications

• Ability to lead and motivate technical teams while balancing operational, strategic, and organizational priorities
• Experience managing cybersecurity platforms, infrastructure, or engineering functions
• Experience leading technical teams in cybersecurity, IT, or related disciplines
• Experience supporting enterprise security technologies and the infrastructure that enables them
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and modern enterprise tech environments
• Familiarity with security monitoring, automation, and incident response platforms

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop multiple Security Engineering & Platform teams, including supervisors, engineers, and specialists
• Set strategic direction and roadmaps for cybersecurity platforms and engineering capabilities
• Collaborate with internal customers, technology teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders
• Mentor team members and support their professional and technical development
• Oversee administration, support, and optimization of security monitoring, automation, and cyber defense platforms
• Drive automation initiatives through orchestration platforms, scripting, APIs, and best practices
• Ensure platforms are monitored, maintained, and continuously improved for security effectiveness and efficiency
• Lead platform lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization
• Support incident response and security operations through reliable platform engineering and service delivery
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technology evaluations
• Participate in PoC testing and technology assessments
• Partner with Security Architecture to transition new technologies into operational support
• Develop and maintain operational processes, standards, and documentation for security engineering
• Manage team workload, priorities, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
