Job summary

Everforth ECS seeks a Director of Security Architecture to steer the VA's secure enterprise, cloud, and network designs across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments. You will ensure alignment with FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles while shaping strategy, governance, and implementation.

The role blends technical leadership with customer engagement, risk management, and hands‑on architectural oversight to deliver scalable, resilient architectures across complex federal environments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security architecture for federal environments.
• Expertise with ZTA, cloud security, and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to translate mission needs into secure architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of security architects and engineers.
• Define priorities, standards, and delivery-risk mitigation.
• Develop security requirements and architecture design documentation.
• Design secure VA architectures across AWS, Azure, and on-prem.
• Ensure alignment with FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP requirements.
• Oversee FedRAMP authorization activities and continuous monitoring.
• Assess cybersecurity maturity and develop implementation roadmaps.
• Support FISMA, FedRAMP and ATO assessments and remediation.
• Drive modernization, pilots, and evaluation of new tech.
• Promote automation, IaC, and standardization across platforms.
• Strengthen reliability, observability, and secure-by-design practices.
• Provide governance and participate in architecture reviews.
• Engage VA stakeholders and support technical proposals.
