Job Details

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Permanent Director, SEC & Technical Accounting to join our dynamic team. This role will be instrumental in providing leadership and strategic direction to our SEC reporting and technical accounting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial reporting. The role requires a strong understanding of SEC rules and regulations, US GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards. The ideal candidate will also have extensive experience using Workiva or a similar platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of all SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and proxy statements.
• Oversee the interpretation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other applicable regulations.
• Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions, including M&A, divestitures, debt/equity offerings, and lease accounting.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Manage the technical accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Serve as the primary liaison for the company's external auditors, providing them with necessary documentation and addressing any queries or concerns they may have.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the SEC reporting and technical accounting functions.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends and changes in SEC reporting requirements and accounting standards, ensuring the company is always in compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A CPA, Master's degree, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within SEC reporting or technical accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and other relevant accounting standards.
• Proven experience in preparing and filing SEC reports, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and 8-Ks.
• Extensive experience with Workiva or a similar platform.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing and mentoring staff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and transactions.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical practices and compliance.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
