About This Role:

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales Operations (DSO) manages support functions essential to sales force productivity. These include planning, reporting, quota setting and management, sales process optimization, sales job design, sales education, sales program implementation, sales compensation design, and administration for the Commercial organization.

The DSO is responsible for the overall productivity and effectiveness of the assigned sales organization. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales Operations, the DSO also works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the sales organization supported.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the Commercial organization. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts.
  • Supports the equitable assignment of Sales quotas and ensures quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources. ·
  • Works to ensure all Commercial organization objectives are assigned in a timely fashion related to MBOs, and commission plans. ·
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for sales process improvement. Works closely with sales management to inspect sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
  • Assists sales management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement. ·
  • Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other data reporting essential to the sales organization. Recommend revisions to existing reports, or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed. ·
  • Implements enabling technologies, including CRM, to field sales teams. Monitors the assigned sales organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining CRM data. Works closely with sales management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s technology investments. ·
  • Provide input to senior leadership in the development and administration of sales incentive compensation programs. ·
  • Working with Accounting, Finance, and Human Resources, providing assistance with sales incentive compensation administration on an as-needed basis, or clarifying the application of sales compensation program policies and procedures. ·
  • Direct and lead a team of direct reports and coordinate with the appropriate management level through effective coaching, and mentorship of employees to meet their potential in the role.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.

What You Need for this Position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years in sales operations; at least 8 years of management experience or equivalent, sales operations experience preferred.
  • Proven experience using data and reporting to identify sales forecasts, performance and productivity metrics, and opportunities to improve sales function.
  • Experience delivering results through others, both direct and matrixed. Proven ability to lead, develop, motivate, and hold others accountable.
  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and proven ability to interface cross-functionally as well as to executive management.
  • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize business requirements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with SFDC and QAD.
  • Ability to travel, up to 30%

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range

$165,000.00 - $215,000.00
