Job summary

UL Solutions in Illinois seeks a Director of Software Engineering & SaaS Platforms to lead strategic and operational software teams shaping architecture, delivery, and platform scalability across cloud and SaaS environments.

The role partners with Product, Platform Engineering, Security, Data, and business leaders to drive innovation, AI integration, and reliable delivery while maintaining regulatory compliance and strong customer value.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Extensive software engineering experience with multiple years in senior leadership roles.
Proven success leading large-scale software platforms or SaaS products.
Strong understanding of modern architectures, cloud, DevOps, and secure development.
Ability to lead through change and scale organizations.

Responsibilities

Define and drive software engineering strategy and technical roadmap aligned with product vision.
Ensure adoption of architecture, testing, CI/CD, security, and reliability practices.
Guide platform scalability, performance, and resilience across cloud and SaaS environments.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Product, Security, Data, and business leaders.
