Job summary

MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM seeks a Director of Risk Management to lead risk programs safeguarding patients, staff and visitors. You will identify risks, coordinate corrective actions, educate staff and partner with legal counsel on compliance to strengthen safety culture.

You will supervise staff, manage budget, report to leadership and advance quality initiatives, incident reporting, and regulatory audits while aligning with the hospital's mission and strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required or four (4) plus years of direct experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years of previous leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the facility’s risk management program and evaluates risks in patient care and service delivery.
• Develops and updates policies to promote safety and regulatory compliance.
• Leads patient safety initiatives, including root cause analyses and risk improvement.
• Educates departments on risk practices, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Manages claims and litigation processes with legal counsel and maintains documentation.
• Prepares reports for administration, Governing Board, and committees on risk issues.
• Monitors occurrence reporting systems and analyzes data to identify trends.
• Oversees budget and resources, aligning with the hospital's mission.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
