Job summary

MountainView Regional Medical Center is seeking a Director of Risk Management to oversee the development and implementation of risk programs ensuring safety for patients, visitors, and staff. You will identify risks, coordinate corrective actions, and educate staff on best practices while aligning with governance and legal counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required or four+ years of direct experience in lieu of a degree.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a closely related field with Bachelor's degree required.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and manages the facility's risk management program, identifying and evaluating risks in patient care and service delivery.
• Develops, implements, and updates policies and procedures to promote a safe environment and regulatory compliance.
• Leads patient safety initiatives, including root cause analyses and FMEA, and other quality improvement efforts.
• Provides education and guidance to departments on risk management practices and incident reporting.
• Manages claims and litigation processes, coordinating with legal counsel and maintaining documentation.
• Develops and presents reports to administration and boards regarding risk issues.
• Ensures accurate management of occurrence reporting systems and data-driven improvements.
• Oversees departmental budget and resources, ensuring fiscal accountability.
