Job summary

Ashford Inc. seeks a Director, Risk Management in Dallas to lead risk identification, mitigation, and prevention across its hospitality to project management subsidiaries.

This high-visibility role reports to the SVP, Risk Management and offers exposure to senior leadership with room to grow the function. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in risk management, CPCU/ARM/CPCU preferred, and a track record with multi-line programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in business or a relevant field.
• CPCU, ARM, or similar risk management certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive risk management experience.
• Extensive experience with shared and layered programs required.
• Working knowledge of casualty coverage, construction and development coverages, and property coverages.
• Captive insurance structure experience preferred.
• Lodging industry acumen a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from departments and subsidiaries and prepare submissions for corporate insurance programs as well as subsidiary companies.
• Prepare marketing materials and interact with brokers for policy renewals.
• Pull and consolidate broker reports and prepare loss runs and reports on claims.
• Perform trend analysis and implement risk mitigation solutions such as safety policies and training.
• Provide contractual, insurance, and risk-management support to internal departments and subsidiaries, including negotiation of insurance language.
• Prepare budgets and allocate insurance premiums to hotels and subsidiaries.
• Prepare accounting reports and interface with accounting/auditing teams.
• Work with brokers to place bonds and manage renewals.
• Oversee renewal of flood policies.
• Review certificates of insurance.
• Work with lenders on policy review and compliance matters.
• Assist with enterprise risk management and captive insurance programs.
