Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA seeks an experienced Clinical Risk Manager to oversee identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring of risks across the organization. You will collaborate with senior leadership to shape risk strategies and protect patients and assets.

Reporting to the Risk Management team, you will lead incident response, regulatory compliance, and staff mentoring, while building proactive processes for quality improvement and patient safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5 years' experience in a healthcare clinical setting (Quality Improvement, Patient Care, Healthcare Leadership, Claims management, or Patient Safety).
• Oversee risk management activities across Sentara to safeguard assets, reputation, and operations.
• Lead efforts to identify and evaluate risks across financial, operational, regulatory and reputational domains.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, communicate, evaluate and implement Sentara's Clinical Risk Management program.
• Respond, investigate, report, and follow-up on concerns related to clinical care and services to improve quality of care and reduce liability.
• Lead identification and evaluation of various types of risks (financial, operational, compliance, reputational).
• Lead the response to risk-related incidents; monitor and report risk management activities.
• Mentor risk management professionals and act as primary contact for stakeholders.
