Senior Director, Revenue Cycle – Bethesda, MD Based (In-office Based)

Our client is a leading physician-owned and operated next generation Management Services organization (MSO), supporting one of the most respected and expansive multi-state independent physician practices in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as other medical practice clients nationally.

We are conducting a search for a Revenue Cycle/Billing executive reporting directly to the VP, Revenue Cycle.

The Senior Director of Revenue will be responsible for developing and implementing revenue growth strategies across the organization. This role will involve overseeing the revenue management team, analyzing market trends, and working closely with the sales, marketing, and finance teams to optimize pricing, product positioning, and overall profitability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue management, strategic planning, data analysis, and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities/Scope of Responsibility:

  • Own the vision and strategy for the Revenue Operations team and collaborate with executive leadership to align Revenue Operations with the company's goals.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive revenue management strategies to drive top-line growth and maximize profitability.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in revenue operations to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Establish responsive and support-oriented Operations teams to improve business operational processes.
  • Enable business teams with training, support, configuration, and administration of enterprise systems.
  • Work with executive leadership to manage a roadmap of dashboards, metrics, and KPIs for data-driven insights and management.
  • Conduct regular analysis of revenue data, sales trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to track revenue performance, market share, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide detailed revenue performance reports and analysis to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Oversee and manage the revenue operations team, including revenue managers, analysts, and support staff.
  • Implement revenue optimization tools and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies to achieve revenue goals.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of revenue and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and risks.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback, market research, and industry trends to inform revenue strategies.
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams, including new products, services, and partnerships.
  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships that align with revenue growth objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant revenue recognition standards, financial regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Identify and mitigate revenue-related risks, including credit risk, pricing risk, and competitive risk.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in revenue management, sales, finance and leadership.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and optimizing revenue operations.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Proficiency with revenue management systems, CRM software, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Salesforce).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products.
