Job summary

Anthropic in San Francisco is seeking a Director, Revenue Controls to own the control environment over the order-to-cash cycle. You will partner with Accounting, Systems, and Internal Audit to ensure SOX 404 readiness and robust revenue reporting.

Lead design and implementation of controls around usage capture, contract-to-billing, and revenue recognition; coordinate with external auditors and service providers to obtain SOC reports. This role is based in a hybrid SF office.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SOX 404 readiness at a pre-IPO company or public company.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Deep SOX experience over revenue and order-to-cash processes with design of controls.
• Experience leading revenue system implementations, migrations, or major configuration changes.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 and how contracts, usage, and billing translate into revenue.

Responsibilities

• Own the accountable first-line control owner for order-to-cash and revenue process controls, including design, documentation, execution, and evidence.
• Maintain narratives, SOPs, and process maps as the standard, updated for changes.
• Partner with Billing, AR & Collections, Deal Desk, and Revenue Accounting to keep definitions current.
• Design/influence controls over usage capture, contract-to-billing, invoice completeness, cash application, and approvals.
• Own reports and IPE validation within the revenue cycle and ensure audit-ready evidence.
• Collaborate with Revenue Tech and Internal Audit on IT-dependent controls and system changes.
• Work with third-party providers to obtain SOC 1 reports and manage risk.
• Support auditors with walkthroughs, testing, and remediation design.
