Job summary

First American is seeking a Director of Retirement Benefits to lead the strategic design, governance, and administration of retirement programs. You will oversee investment oversight, fiduciary governance, vendor management, and plan strategy to ensure cost‑effective and competitive programs.

Reporting to the Vice President of Total Rewards, you will collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR, Payroll, and external advisors to align programs with business objectives and drive retirement readiness for a

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years retirement benefits experience.
• 5+ years leadership in a large organization.
• Experience managing retirement plans with assets > $2B.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA and fiduciary governance.
• Advanced analytical, financial, and project management skills.
• Excellent presentation and communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term retirement and financial wellness strategy.
• Lead retirement benefits team and advise HR leadership.
• Oversee investment oversight and fiduciary governance with committees.
• Manage plan administration, audits, and regulatory reporting.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, and SECURE Act requirements.
• Lead vendor relationships, negotiations, and service levels.
• Develop reporting and dashboards for executive leadership.
