Job summary

A+E Global Media in New York, NY is seeking a Director of Participations & Residuals to lead the royalty accounting for all programs and third-party participants. This role drives estimates, contract interpretation and the operation of the participations system.

The position requires 10+ years in profit participations royalty accounting in the media/entertainment industry, MAGR experience, and strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Director role with 10+ years of profit participations royalty accounting in media/entertainment.
• Residuals experience is a plus.
• Extensive experience with MAGR participation calculations.
• Strong knowledge of new and emerging markets (FAST channels, Podcasts, OTT, AVOD/SVOD).
• Bachelor's degree, Accounting major a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in deciphering legal documents for financial terms.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations to ensure timely and accurate royalty payments.
• Provide final guidance as SME on all participations matters, including estimates and forecasts.
• Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders (business, legal, FP&A, accounting, technology).
• Stay updated on industry standards and emerging markets (FAST channels, Podcasts, OTT, AVOD/SVOD).
• Ensure MAGR participation calculations are accurate in collaboration with Legal and Production Finance.
• Collaborate with Technology and participate in future system discussions.
• Devise and implement automated solutions and perform UAT for the Participations System.
• Coach and develop the team to grow leadership and strategic thinking.
• Lead third-party audits and claims promptly.
• Work with Legal to ensure policy adherence and provide data for proceedings.
