Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey, and Westchester County, including emergency, transitional, and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

We are seeking candidates for the position of Director of Residential Services.

Position: Director of Residential Services

The Program Director of Adult Residential and Developmental Disabilities in Northern New Jersey supervises multiple residential programs, providing administrative and clinical oversight. The role involves promoting and maintaining quality service delivery in accordance with Volunteers of America policies and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable city, state, and federal regulations and reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey.
• At least five years of relevant experience in a residential and/or behavioral health setting.
• Three years of supervisory experience managing multiple social service programs.
• Significant budget management experience.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Supervising program staff and overseeing daily operations and fiscal management of each program.
• Ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery to residents and maintaining up-to-date documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Completing Comprehensive Rehabilitation Needs Assessments and Individualized Rehabilitation Plans as needed.
• Providing clinical and operational support coverage in collaboration with the Residential Manager.
• Monitoring program budgets to ensure fiscal viability, including managing spending and overtime.
• Managing community and governmental relationships and ensuring accreditation standards are met.
• Collaborating with the Facility Director to maintain a clean and well-maintained facility.
• Providing 24/7 on-call supervision and consultation.
• Leading field transitions, including reimbursement transformations.
