AMH is seeking a Director of Construction to lead market-wide homebuilding activities. The role oversees scheduling, budgeting, vendor management, and site safety across multiple communities, ensuring high-quality homes on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in residential construction, strong leadership, and proficiency with BuildPro/JD Edwards and MS Office. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and relocation options as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or related field
• Minimum 7 years in new home construction project management
• Experience as team lead or manager with measurable results
• Experience with scheduling software and cost control
• OSHA 10-Hour Certification or equivalent (within 30 days)
• Strong leadership and financial analysis skills

Responsibilities

• Lead construction team through all phases to deliver quality homes on time and on budget
• Schedule and supervise trade partners and subcontractors
• Coordinate with city inspectors and other departments
• Perform QA inspections and document findings
• Maintain construction documents and change orders
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
• Manage material orders and inventory
