Job summary

Vivint Smart Home, an NRG-owned company, is seeking a Manager, Release Management to lead the strategy, governance, and execution of release operations across cloud, mobile, embedded, and firmware domains. You will build a high-performing Release Management function and partner with Engineering, QE, Product, DevOps, and Operations to ensure disciplined, value-driven releases.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Release Management, Technical Program Management, or Software Delivery.
• 3+ years leading teams in a multi-product software organization.
• Proven experience building or scaling a release management function across domains.
• Strong expertise in governance, readiness, Go/No-Go decisions, and risk/escalation.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, deployment orchestration, and automation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Release Managers across multiple engineering groups.
• Define and implement a shared release operating cadence and governance.
• Partner with Engineering, QE, Product, DevOps, and Operations to align release execution.
• Oversee release calendars, milestones, and cross-domain schedules (cloud, mobile, embedded, firmware).
• Define readiness criteria, approval workflows, and standard artifacts for audits.
• Drive continuous improvement in release tooling, automation, and CI/CD maturity.
• Lead post-release reviews and use data to improve planning and execution.
