Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Director, Regulatory and Strategic Analysis to shape regulatory operations and lead rate case strategies across Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. You will advise executives and manage a high-performing team to deliver complex submissions that recover costs while ensuring safe, reliable service.

You will collaborate with regulators, legislators, and internal teams to align policies with strategic goals and drive continuous improvement in regulatory operations.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required with at least 10 years in the energy industry.
• Knowledge of utility industry and legislative process.
• Ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with rate case development (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Identify regulatory and legislative impacts on corporate positions and suggest actions.
• Develop and promote regulatory and legislative policy positions with senior management.
• Interact with regulators, stakeholders, and internal experts to pursue policy outcomes.
• Advocate Xcel's position in various forums and prepare testimony as needed.
• Direct preparation of comments, testimony, and briefing materials; manage policy initiatives.
