Job summary

Amtrak in the United States seeks a seasoned leader to direct field operations for major capital track construction programs across the Mid-Atlantic, New York, and New England Divisions. You will oversee planning, schedule development, and a roughly $100M annual program, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget compliance with Amtrak and FRA rules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Minimum 11 years of relevant work experience.
  • Qualified or able to be qualified in NORAC, RWP, AMT 2 and MW1000 rules.
  • Ability to work within FRA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage field operations for capital track construction programs.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement annual and long-term programs for track construction.
  • Oversee a roughly $100M annual capital track production program within scope, schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate with Capital Delivery, IPRC, and System Engineering to align with capital needs.
  • Set goals and KPIs for production teams and drive efficiencies.
  • Promote safe work practices and enforce safety rules across teams.
  • Coordinate workforce planning for gang size and equipment needs.
  • Integrate projects to minimize train delays and optimize track usage.
  • Work with labor unions to foster productive relationships.
