Job summary

PKF O'Connor Davies is seeking an experienced Director of R&D Tax Credits to lead consulting services for clients across diverse industries. You will work with Partners and engagement teams to identify, document, and substantiate federal and state research credits, while guiding engagements from scoping to completion.

You’ll supervise teams, mentor staff, expand services, and build strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience with significant R&D Tax Credits experience.
• In-office presence a minimum of 3 days per week.
• Experience leading complex R&D Tax Credit studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage R&D Tax Credit studies for clients across industries.
• Advise clients on Internal Revenue Code Section 41 and related regulations.
• Scope engagements, assess benefits, and allocate resources.
• Conduct technical interviews with engineers, software developers, scientists, and other professionals.
• Review project narratives, calculations, and supporting workpapers for accuracy.
• Support business development and strengthen client relationships.
