Job summary

PKF O’Connor Davies is seeking an R&D Tax Credit Director to lead and deliver federal/state credit consulting services. You will work closely with Partners, clients, and teams to identify, document, and substantiate R&D credit opportunities across industries. You will mentor staff and help grow the Firm’s Tax Credits practice.

The role requires regulatory knowledge, strong technical tax experience, and the ability to manage multiple engagements with focus on quality and client service.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of Internal Revenue Code Section 41 and state credit rules.
• Experience leading complex R&D tax credit studies from scoping to final delivery.
• Active CPA license or EA designation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage R&D tax credit studies for clients across industries.
• Advise on Section 41 and related regulations.
• Oversee interviews, data collection, and documentation for credit calculations.
• Review and finalize project narratives, calculations, and deliverables.
• Support business development and client relationship growth.
