Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Director of Quality Initiatives and System Improvement to oversee hospital-based quality work, drive improvement projects, and mentor teams. This leader will translate data into actionable plans, coordinate with the Chief Quality Officer, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards across the network.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or other advanced health-related degree.
• 7+ years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
• 3+ years of experience in patient safety and quality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to all hospital quality improvement activities and committees.
• Direct local High Reliability Organization transformation and safety initiatives.
• Develop and oversee organizational quality initiatives and monitor quality priorities.
• Present quality data with analysis and recommendations to committees and councils.
• Oversee quality improvement staff and promote continuous learning across the network.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory and licensing requirements.
• Guide continuous learning, evidence-based practices, and scalable system improvements.
• Align performance improvement with Magnet philosophy and hospital goals.
• Hire and evaluate quality staff; ensure adherence to the Medical Center Code of Conduct.
• Collaborate with Patient Safety and Quality Department and senior leadership.
• Analyze performance data over time and benchmark against internal and external standards.
• Conduct regular updates and education for leaders and staff on quality metrics.
