Tru Vue is seeking a Director of R&D & Advanced Technologies in Faribault to lead the R&D organization and advance surface‑coating technologies. The role combines hands‑on development with strategic portfolio management and cross‑functional leadership in a manufacturing environment.

Expect 50–60% hands‑on work, guiding high‑priority programs, optimizing processes, and scaling to production while mentoring a team of scientists and engineers. Strong PVD/PECVD experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Advanced technical degree preferred.
• Progressive R&D or coatings/ thin‑film experience including PVD/PECVD.
• Experience leading complex tech development projects from experiments to scale‑up.

Responsibilities

• Lead priority advanced-technology programs from experimentation through manufacturing.
• Design experiments, develop coating architectures, analyze data, optimize processes.
• Guide technology portfolio, set priorities, and align with customer and manufacturing needs.
• Mentor scientists and engineers, manage budgets and resources.
