Job summary

Tru Vue Inc. seeks an Optical Coating Engineering Technician to support the Coating Manager and production coaters in Minnesota. The role emphasizes development of new coatings, process improvements, and hands-on testing to drive yields and quality.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in vacuum/thin film coating, strong problem-solving skills, and experience training technicians. Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in technology, equipment, or product development, with significant vacuum/thin film coating.
• 5 years of experience is preferred.
• PC skills: Microsoft Office, Internet, E-mail, Spreadsheets, and department specific software.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma tools; prior Six Sigma training preferred.
• Ability to lead and motivate others in a cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute technical training programs for Process Technicians.
• Audit SOPs related to the coating process.
• Provide technical feedback to the Coating Process Manager.
• Coordinate Process Technician scheduling and coater coverage.
• Contribute to development of new products and coating process improvements.
• Generate samples and conduct development coater trials for new coatings.
• Lead development efforts on production coaters.
• Perform product testing (optical, mechanical, environmental).
